أخبرني الحسن بن حَلِيم المروَزي، أخبرنا أبو الموجِّه، أخبرنا عَبْدانُ، أخبرنا عبد الله، أخبرنا صفوان بن عمرو، عن عبد الله بن بُسْر، عن أبي أُمامة، عن النبي ﷺ في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَيُسْقَى مِنْ مَاءٍ صَدِيدٍ (16) يَتَجَرَّعُهُ﴾ [إبراهيم: 16، 17]، قال: "يُقرَّبُ إليه فيتَكرَّهُه، فإذا أدنيَ منه شَوَى وجهَه ووَقَعَ فروةُ رأسِه، فإذا شَرِبَ قَطَّعَ أمعاءَه حتى يخرجَ من دُبُرِه" يقول الله: ﴿وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْ﴾ [محمد: 15]، ويقول الله ﷿: ﴿وَإِنْ يَسْتَغِيثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ بِئْسَ الشَّرَابُ﴾ [الكهف: 29] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding this saying of Allah Almighty: "And he will be given to drink of festering water, which he will try to gulp down" [Surah Ibrahim: 16-17]: "It will be brought near to him and he will loathe it. Then when it is brought closer to him, it will roast his face and the skin of his scalp will fall off. Then when he drinks it, it will cut his intestines until they come out from his rear." Allah Almighty says: "And they will be given boiling water to drink, which will cut their intestines" [Surah Muhammad: 15]. And Allah Almighty says: "And if they cry for relief, they will be relieved with water like molten copper which roasts the faces; how wretched a drink!" [Surah al-Kahf: 29]
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) رجاله ثقات معروفون غير عبد الله بن بُسر، فقد اختُلف في اسمه على عبد الله بن المبارك هل هو عبد الله مكبَّرًا أم عبيد الله مصغَّرًا، واختُلف في مَن هو، وكل ذلك مبيَّن في تعليقنا على "مسند أحمد".
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah (trustworthy) and well known, except for 'Abd Allah bin Busr.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is a disagreement over 'Abd Allah bin al-Mubarak about his name, whether it is "'Abd Allah" (the full form) or "'Ubayd Allah" (the diminutive form), and there is also disagreement about who he is. All of this is explained in our commentary on "Musnad Ahmad".
أبو الموجِّه: هو محمد بن عمرو الفَزَاري، وعبدان: هو عبد الله بن عثمان المروزي، وعبد الله: هو ابن المبارك، وأبو أمامة: هو صُدَي بن عجلان الباهلي.
Note / Clarification: Abu al-Muwajjih: he is Muhammad bin 'Amr al-Fazari; 'Abdan: he is 'Abd Allah bin 'Uthman al-Marwazi; 'Abd Allah: he is Ibn al-Mubarak; and Abu Umamah: he is Sudayy bin 'Ajlan al-Bahili.
وأخرجه أحمد 36/ (22285)، والترمذي (2583)، والنسائي (11199) من طريقين عن عبد الله بن المبارك، بهذا الإسناد. وسيأتي برقم (3433) و (3746).
Reference / Source: Ahmad (36/ 22285), al-Tirmidhi (2583) and al-Nasa'i (11199) recorded it through two routes from 'Abd Allah bin al-Mubarak with this same chain. And it will come later at numbers (3433) and (3746).
