أخبرنا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق ابن إبراهيم، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا الثَّوْري، عن أبي إسحاق، عن أبي الأحوَص، عن عبد الله، في قوله ﷿: ﴿فَرَدُّوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ﴾ قال عبد الله: كذا؛ ورَدَّ يدَه في فيهِ وعَضَّ يدَه، وقال: عَضُّوا على أصابعِهم غَيظًا (1). هذا حديث صحيح بالزِّيادة على شرطهما. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding this saying of Allah Almighty: "And they returned their hands to their mouths," that he said: "Like this," and he put his hand into his mouth and bit it, and said: "They bit their fingers in rage."
This hadith, with this addition, is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).
