Mustadrak al-Hakim 3347 — Explanation of the meaning of "its dwelling"

حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا هارون بن سليمان، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مَهْدي، حدثنا سفيان، عن عاصم، عن أبي رَزِين، عن ابن عبَّاس: ﴿وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابَ إِلَى أُمَّةٍ مَعْدُودَةٍ﴾ [هود: 7]، قال: إلى أجلٍ مَعدُود (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And if We delay the punishment for them until an appointed ummah" [Surah Hud: 8], that he said: Its meaning is "until an appointed term."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده حسن من أجل عاصم: وهو ابن بهدلة. هارون بن سليمان: هو ابن داود أبو الحسن الأصبهاني الخزاز، وسفيان: هو الثوري، وأبو رزين: هو مسعود بن مالك الأسدي. وأخرجه عبد الرزاق في "تفسيره" 1/ 302، وكذا الطبري 12/ 6، وابن أبي حاتم 6/ 2007 من طريق سفيان الثوري، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: Its chain is hasan because of 'Asim (Ibn Bahdalah).
Note / Clarification: Harun bin Sulayman: he is Ibn Dawud Abu al-Hasan al-Asbahani al-Khazzaz; Sufyan: he is al-Thawri; and Abu Razin: he is Mas'ud bin Malik al-Asadi.
Reference / Source: 'Abd al-Razzaq recorded it in his "Tafsir" (1/ 302), and likewise al-Tabari (12/ 6) and Ibn Abi Hatim (6/ 2007), through the route of Sufyan al-Thawri with this same chain.
