هكذا أخبرنا علي بن محمد بن عُقْبة الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدثنا الهيثم ابن خالد، حدثنا أبو نُعيم، حدثنا ابن عُيينة، عن عمرو بن دينار قال: سمعت محمدَ ابن طلحة بن يزيد بن رُكَانة يحدِّث عن عمر بن الخطاب قال: لَأن أكونَ سألتُ رسول الله ﷺ عن ثلاث، أحبُّ إلي من حُمْر النَّعَم: مَن الخليفةُ بعده؟ وعن قومٍ قالوا: نُقِرُّ بالزكاة في أموالنا ولا نؤدِّيها إليك، أيَحِلُّ قتالُهم؟ وعن الكَلَالة (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "If only I had asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about three things, that would have been dearer to me than red camels: (first,) who would be the caliph after him? (Second,) about people who say: We acknowledge that zakah is due on our wealth, but we will not pay it to you; is it lawful to fight them? And (third,) about kalalah (one who leaves neither parent nor child)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

(1) رجاله ثقات إلّا أنه منقطع، محمد بن طلحة لم يدرك عمرَ بنَ الخطاب، وبهذا أعلَّه الذهبي في "تلخيصه". أبو نعيم: هو الفضل بن دُكين.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, but it is munqati';
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Muhammad bin Talhah did not meet Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and for this reason al-Dhahabi declared it defective in his "Talkhis". Abu Nu'aym is al-Fadl bin Dukayn.
وأخرجه عبد الرزاق في "مصنفه" (19185)، وسعيد بن منصور في "سننه" (2932) عن سفيان بن عيينة بهذا الإسناد. وقرن عبد الرزاق بسفيان ابنَ جُريج.
Reference / Source: Abd al-Razzaq in his "Musannaf" (19185) and Sa'id bin Mansur in his "Sunan" (2932) recorded it from Sufyan bin Uyaynah with this chain.
