أخبرني أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا حامد بن محمود، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله الدَّشتَكي، حدثنا عمرو بن أبي قيس، عن أبي إسحاق الشَّيباني، عن عِكْرمة عن ابن عبّاس في قوله: ﴿وَإِذَا حَضَرَ الْقِسْمَةَ أُولُو الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينُ فَارْزُقُوهُمْ مِنْهُ وَقُولُوا لَهُمْ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا﴾ [النساء: 8]، قال: يُرضَخُ لهم، فإن كان في المال تقصيرٌ اعتُذِرَ إليهم (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty, "And when relatives, orphans and the needy are present at the division (of inheritance), give them something from it and speak to them words of kindness" [Surah Al-Nisa': 8], that he said: "These people should be given something (as a gift), and if the wealth is scarce, an apology should be made to them in a kind manner."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(3) إسناده حسن من أجل عمرو بن أبي قيس. أبو إسحاق الشيباني: هو سليمان بن أبي سليمان الكوفي. وأخرجه أبو داود في الناسخ والمنسوخ كما في "تهذيب الكمال" 15/ 209 عن عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله الدشتكي، عن أبيه، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Abi Qays.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani is Sulayman bin Abi Sulayman al-Kufi.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud recorded it in "al-Nasikh wa al-Mansukh" (as in "Tahdhib al-Kamal" 15/ 209) from Abd Allah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abd Allah al-Dashtaki, from his father, with this chain.
وأخرجه بنحوه الطبري في "تفسيره" 4/ 268 من طريق عنبسة بن سعيد، عن سليمان الشيباني، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari recorded something similar in his "Tafsir" (4/ 268) by way of Anbasah bin Sa'id, from Sulayman al-Shaybani, with the same chain.
