Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: It is not authentic as marfu' (attributed) to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), even though its narrators are on the whole thiqah, except Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hasan in the second chain, and he is corroborated.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Shu'bah was contradicted in narrating it as connected (mawsul), as will come. Abu Dawud is Sulayman bin Dawud al-Tayalisi.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi recorded it (2585) from Mahmud bin Ghaylan, from Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, from Shu'bah, with this chain, similar to the hadith of Wahb bin Jarir. Al-Tirmidhi said: "A hasan sahih hadith."
Reference / Source: Ahmad (4/ (2735) and 5/ (3136)), Ibn Majah (4325), al-Nasa'i (11004), and Ibn Hibban (7470) recorded something similar through various routes from Shu'bah, with the same chain.
Details of the narration: It will be repeated with the author at no. (3727) from the narration of Abu al-Abbas Muhammad bin Ya'qub.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Shu'bah was contradicted in it by Fudayl bin Iyad (who is thiqah and an imam), in what Abd Allah bin Ahmad recorded in his additions to "al-Musnad" (5/ 3137), and by Yahya bin Isa al-Ramli (who has weakness), with Ibn Abi Shaybah (13/ 161) and al-Bayhaqi in "al-Ba'th wa al-Nushur" (544). Both of them narrated it from al-A'mash, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, who said: "If a drop (of zaqqum)", etc. They did not mention the recitation in it, they made it mawquf, and they inserted Abu Yahya (al-Qattat) between al-A'mash and Mujahid, and this Abu Yahya has weakness. As for al-A'mash, although he heard hadiths from Mujahid, he is known for tadlis.
