It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to recite this verse as follows: "And none knows its true interpretation except Allah, and those firmly grounded in knowledge say: We believe in it" [Surah Al Imran: 7].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Reference / Source: Abd al-Razzaq recorded it in his "Tafsir" 1/116, and via him al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" 3/182, and Ibn Abi Dawud in "al-Masahif" (205), from Ma'mar, with this same chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): This reading is one of the shadhdh (irregular) readings, and his reading it that way is to be understood as by way of explanation (tafsir), not as recitation, and Allah the Exalted knows best. The mutawatir, well-known recitation is: ﴿وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ﴾ [And those firm in knowledge say: We believe in it].
