أخبرني عبد الرحمن بن الحسن القاضي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن الحسين، حدثنا آدم بن أبي إياس، حدثنا وَرْقاءُ، عن ابن أبي نجيح، عن عطاء، عن ابن عباس، قال: نَسَخَت هذه الآيةُ عِدَّتَها في أهلها، فتعتدُّ حيث شاءت، لقول الله: ﴿غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ﴾ [البقرة: 240]. قال عطاء: إن شاءت اعتدَّت في أهلها، وإن شاءت خَرَجَت، لقول الله ﷿: ﴿فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي مَا فَعَلْنَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِنَّ﴾ [البقرة: 240] (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه (4)!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both); he said: This verse abrogated the requirement for the widow to spend her waiting period (for a year) among her family; now she may spend her waiting period wherever she wishes, because of Allah's words: "without being turned out" [Surah al-Baqarah: 240]. Ata said: If she wishes, she may spend her waiting period among her family, and if she wishes, she may leave, because of the words of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "But if they leave (of their own accord), there is no sin upon you for what they do with themselves (in a lawful manner)" [Surah al-Baqarah: 240].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

(3) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف عبد الرحمن بن الحسن شيخ المصنف، وقد روي من غير هذا الوجه، فانظر ما سلف برقم (2875). ورقاء: هو ابن عمر اليَشكُري.
Grading: This report is sahih, and this chain is weak because of the weakness of Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hasan, the author's (al-Hakim's) shaykh; and it has been narrated through a route other than this one,
