حدثني علي بن عيسى الحِيري، حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن زياد وإبراهيم بن أبي طالب، قالا: حدثنا سعيد بن يحيى بن سعيد الأُمَوي، حدثنا حفص ابن غِيَاث، عن داود بن أبي هند، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: إذا حَمَلَته تسعةَ أشهر، أرضَعَته واحدًا وعشرين، وإذا حَمَلَته ستةَ أشهر، أرضَعَته أربعًا وعشرين، ثم قرأ: ﴿وَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا﴾ [الأحقاف: 15] (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: When a woman carries the child for nine months, she will breastfeed it for twenty-one months; and if she carries it for six months, she will breastfeed it for twenty-four months. Then, as proof of this, he recited this verse: "And his bearing and his weaning are thirty months" [Surah al-Ahqaf: 15].
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

وأخرجه الطحاوي في "مشكل الآثار" 7/ 292 من طريق نعيم بن حماد، عن حفص بن غياث، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Tahawi recorded it in "Mushkil al-Athar" 7/292 via Nu'aym bin Hammad, from Hafs bin Ghiyath, with this same chain.
وأخرجه بنحوه الطبري في تفسيره 2/ 491، والطحاوي 7/ 291، والبيهقي 7/ 442 و 462 - 463، والضياء المقدسي في "المختارة" 11/ (397) من طرق عن داود بن أبي هند به.
