Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) making this supplication between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone: 'Rabbana atina fi al-dunya hasanatan wa fi al-akhirati hasanatan wa qina adhab al-nar' (Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain can possibly be graded hasan,
Technical note / Defect ('illah): but the correct view is that this hadith is the narration of Abd Allah bin al-Sa'ib from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); for Sufyan (al-Thawri) was contradicted by a group who narrated it from Ibn Jurayj as the hadith of Abd Allah bin al-Sa'ib, as has passed at number (1691), not as the hadith of his father al-Sa'ib bin Abi al-Sa'ib; and both of them were Companions.
