حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفَّان العامِري، حدثنا عمر بن سعد أبو داود، حدثنا سفيان، عن منصور، عن أبي وائل، عن عبد الله، في قوله ﷿: ﴿الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ﴾ قال: هو كتابُ الله (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "The straight path" [Surah al-Fatihah: 6], that he said: It refers to the Book of Allah.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) إسناده صحيح. سفيان: هو الثوري ومنصور: هو ابن المعتمر، وأبو وائل: هو شقيق بن سلمة.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Sufyan is al-Thawri, Mansur is Ibn al-Mu'tamir, and Abu Wa'il is Shaqiq bin Salamah.
وأخرجه البيهقي "شعب الإيمان" (1790) من طريق علي بن حرب، عن أبي داود الحفري - وهو عمر بن سعد - بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi recorded it in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (1790) by way of 'Ali bin Harb from Abu Dawud al-Hafari (who is 'Umar bin Sa'd), with this chain.
وأخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 1/ 74 من طريقين عن سفيان، به.

وأخرجه المروزي في "السنة" (24) من طريق مسعر، عن منصور، به وسيأتي برقم (3710).
