حدَّثَناه أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن شاذانَ الجوهري، حدثنا يوسف بن سلمان، حدثنا حاتم بن إسماعيل، حدثنا أبو الأسباط الحارثي، عن يحيى بن أبي كَثير، عن أبي سَلَمة، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "تَعلَّموا أنسابَكم تَصِلوا أرحامَكم" (1). حدثنا علي بن عيسى الحِيرِي، حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن زياد قال: سمعتُ محمدَ بن يحيى يقول: أبو الأسباط الحارثي: هو بِشْر بن رافع.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn your lineages so that you may maintain your ties of kinship."
This hadith also has a shahid (supporting narration) whose source is of the kind used for shawahid; and Muhammad bin Yahya says that Abu al-Asbat al-Harithi means Bishr bin Rafi'.

(1) صحيح بما قبله، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف أبي الأسباط الحارثي، لكن سيأتي الحديث بنحوه برقم (7471) بإسناد حسن.
Grading: It is sahih by virtue of the preceding narration, though this particular chain is weak due to the weakness of Abu al-Asbat al-Harithi.
Note / Clarification: This same hadith will come later at number (7471) with a hasan chain.
وأخرجه السمعاني في "الأنساب" 1/ 40 من طريق أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Sam'ani narrated it in "al-Ansab" (vol. 1, p. 40) via Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "الأوسط" (8308)، وابن عدي في "الكامل" 2/ 12 من طريقين عن يوسف بن سلمان، به.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Mu'jam al-Awsat" (8308) and Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" (vol. 2, p. 12) via two routes from Yusuf bin Salman.
وأخرجه العقيلي في "الضعفاء" (197) من طريق عبد الرزاق، عن بشر بن رافع أبي الأسباط، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Uqayli narrated it in "al-Du'afa'" (197) via Abd al-Razzaq, from Bishr bin Rafi' (Abu al-Asbat).
