حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، أخبرنا العبَّاس بن الوليد بن مَزْيَد، حدثنا محمد بن شعيب، أخبرنا شَيْبان بن عبد الرحمن، عن عاصم، عن أبي رزين، عن أبي يحيى، عن ابن عبَّاس، عن النبي ﷺ: (وإنَّه لَعَلَمٌ لِلسَّاعةِ) [الزخرف: 61] قال: "خروجُ عيسى قبل يوم القيامة" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning this verse: "And indeed, he is a sign of the Hour": "(It refers to) the coming forth of Isa (peace be upon him) before the Day of Resurrection." [Surah al-Zukhruf: 61]

(2) إسناده حسن، إلّا أنَّ المحفوظ فيه عن ابن عبَّاس من قوله موقوفًا لا مرفوعًا ما هو مبيَّن في تعليقنا على "مسند أحمد" 5/ (2918) حيث أخرجه ضمن حديث عن هاشم بن القاسم عن شيبان موقوفًا، وهو الصحيح. وأخرجه كرواية المصنف هنا ابنُ حبان (6817) من طريق الوليد بن مسلم عن شيبان، به. وسيأتي برقم (3716) من حديث عكرمة عن ابن عبَّاس موقوفًا.
Grading: Its chain is hasan, but what is mahfuz (preserved) in it is that it is Ibn 'Abbas's own statement (mawquf), not a saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (marfu'), as is made clear in our commentary on "Musnad Ahmad" 5/(2918), where it is narrated mawquf within a hadith of Hashim bin al-Qasim from Shayban; and that is the correct view.
Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (6817) recorded it like the narration of the author (al-Hakim) here, by way of al-Walid bin Muslim from Shayban.
