Abdullah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abza narrates from his father, and he from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting it this way: "qul bi-fadli Allahi wa bi-rahmatihi fa-bi-dhalika fal-tafrahu huwa khayrun mimma tajma'un" "Say: (All of this is) by the bounty of Allah and by His mercy, so in that let them rejoice; it is better than what (worldly wealth and goods) they gather." [Surah Yunus: 58]
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading of the chain and the preserved version: The chain is "hasan" because of al-Ajlah (Ibn 'Abd Allah al-Kindi) (he has been corroborated), and also because of 'Abd Allah bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abza. But what is "mahfuz" (preserved) is that the one who recited the verse was Ubayy bin Ka'b, not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as will come.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3981) narrated it via al-Mughirah bin Salamah, from Ibn al-Mubarak, with this same chain.
Contradiction: Ibn al-Mubarak was contradicted by 'Abd Allah bin Numayr (Ibn Abi Shaybah), Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan (Abu 'Ubayd, Ahmad) and Hushaym (al-Tabari). All of them narrated it from al-Ajlah and made the reciter of the verse "Ubayy bin Ka'b".
Agreement and preference: Aslam al-Minqari (who is thiqah) agreed with them later with the author (al-Hakim) at number (5408). He narrated it from 'Abd Allah bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abza and said the one who recited was Ubayy bin Ka'b (as the three narrators mentioned narrated it from al-Ajlah). This is what is "mahfuz". (See the notes in the Musnad of Ahmad.)
