حدثني علي بن عيسى الحِيرِي، حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن النَّضْر الجارُودي، حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن حمَّاد النَّرْسي ونَصْر بن علي الجَهضَمي، قالا: حدثنا المعتمِر بن سليمان، عن أبيه، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: لما نزلت ﴿سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى﴾ قال رسول الله ﷺ: "كلُّها في صُحُف إبراهيم وموسى"، فلما نزلت: ﴿وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى﴾ فبلغ ﴿وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِي وَفَّى﴾ ثَقَّله وقال: "وَفَّى"، ﴿أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى﴾ إلى قوله: ﴿هَذَا نَذِيرٌ مِنَ النُّذُرِ الْأُولَى﴾ [النجم: 37 - 56] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: When the verse "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" [Surah al-A'la: 1] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All of this is (also) in the scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa." Then, when the opening verses of Surah al-Najm were revealed and he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the place "And of Ibrahim, who fulfilled" [Surah al-Najm: 37], he read it with a shaddah as "waffa" (who fulfilled), and then he recited from "That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another" up to "This is a warner like the former warners" [Surah al-Najm: 37-56].

(1) إسناده صحيح، عطاء بن السائب وإن كان قد اختلط في آخر عمره، فإنَّ سليمان التيمي كان أكبر منه، فروايته عنه محمولة على أنها كانت قبل اختلاطه.
Grading of the chain: Its chain is "sahih". Although 'Ata' bin al-Sa'ib became confused (mukhtalit) at the end of his life, Sulayman al-Taymi was older than him, so his narration from him is taken to have been before his confusion.
وأخرجه النسائي (11604) عن زكريا بن يحيى، عن نصر بن علي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (11604) narrated it via Zakariyya bin Yahya, from Nasr bin 'Ali.
