It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited "wa ma kana li-nabiyyin an yaghulla" [Surah Al Imran: 161] "And it is not for any prophet to act unfaithfully" with a fathah on the "ya'".
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Grading of the chain: This chain is "very weak" (da'if jiddan) because of Abu Ghaziyyah and his teacher al-Ashhali. Al-Dhahabi declared it wahi (weak) in his "Talkhis". (See "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" 5601 and what follows, and the notes on it.)
Readings: (يَغُلّ), with fatha on the ya' and damma on the ghayn, was read by Ibn Kathir, Abu 'Amr and 'Asim. The rest of the seven read (يُغَلّ), with damma on the ya' and fatha on the ghayn. ("al-Sab'ah", p. 218.)
