أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا أحمد بن مِهْران، أخبرنا عبيد الله بن موسى، أخبرنا إسرائيل، عن أبي إسحاق، عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد، عن عبد الله بن مسعود قال: أقرأَني رسول الله ﷺ: (إنِّي أنا الرَّزّاقُ ذُو القوَّةِ المَتِينُ) (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me to recite it this way: "inni ana al-Razzaq dhu al-quwwat al-matin" "Indeed, I am the Provider, the Possessor of power, the Firm." [Surah al-Dhariyat: 58]

(3) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل أحمد بن مهران. وهذه القراءة مع صحة إسنادها شاذَّة، لمخالفتها القراءة المتواترة الثابتة في رسم المصحف: ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ﴾. ¤ ¤ وأخرجه الترمذي (2940)، والنسائي (7660) من طريقين عن عبيد الله بن موسى، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading of the hadith and the reading: The hadith is "sahih", and this chain is "hasan" because of Ahmad bin Mihran.
Technical note (irregularity): Despite its chain being sound, this reading is "shadh", because it contradicts the mutawatir reading established in the script of the Mushaf: ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الْقُوَّةِ الْمَتِينُ﴾ (Indeed, it is Allah who is the Provider, the Possessor of strength, the Firm). Al-Tirmidhi (2940) and al-Nasa'i (7660) narrated it via two routes from 'Ubayd Allah bin Musa, with this same chain.
وقال الترمذي: حديث حسن صحيح.
Ruling of al-Tirmidhi: Al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is "hasan sahih".
وأخرجه أحمد 6/ (3741) و (3771) و (3970)، وأبو داود (3993)، والنسائي (7660) و (11463) من طرق عن إسرائيل، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (6/ 3741, 3771, 3970), Abu Dawud (3993) and al-Nasa'i (7660, 11463) narrated it via various routes from Isra'il, with this same chain.
وأخرجه ابن حبان (6329) من طريق شعبة، عن أبي إسحاق، عن الأسود - وهو ابن يزيد النخعي - عن عبد الله بن مسعود.
Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (6329) narrated it via Shu'bah, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Aswad (Ibn Yazid al-Nakha'i), from 'Abd Allah bin Mas'ud.
