Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2955

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited "kayfa nunshizuha" [Surah al-Baqarah: 259] "how We raise the bones" with "za'".
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it, because neither of them used Isma'il bin Qays bin Thabit as evidence.

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading of the chain: This chain is "da'if" because of the weakness of Isma'il bin Qays. Al-Dhahabi pointed out this defect in his "Talkhis" for this same reason.
Mawquf supporting report: However, this (reading) is established from Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) as "mawquf" on him. Ibn Wahb narrated it in "Fada'il al-Qur'an" (printed with his Tafsir under the title "'Ulum al-Qur'an", from his "Jami'" 3/ 125) via Ibn Abi al-Zinad, from his father, from Kharijah bin Zayd, that "Zayd bin Thabit used to recite" (and he mentioned it). Its chain is "hasan".
Reference / Source: Likewise 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated it in his "Tafsir" (1/ 106) via Muhammad bin Sirin, and Musaddad bin Musarhad (as in "al-Matalib al-'Aliyah", 3531) via Abu al-'Aliyah, both of them from Zayd bin Thabit.
