أخبرني أحمد بن محمد العَنَزي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدثنا محمود بن خالد الدمشقي، حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم، حدثني أبو عَمرو الأوزاعي، حدثني عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده عبد الله بن عمرو: أنَّ امرأة قالت: يا رسول الله، ابني هذا كان بطني له وِعاءً، وثَدْيِي له سِقاءً، وحَجْري له حِواءً، وإِنَّ أباه طلَّقني وأراد أن يَنزِعَه مني، فقال لها رسول الله ﷺ: "أنتِ أحقُّ به ما لم تَنْكِحي" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a woman said: O Messenger of Allah! This is my son; my womb was his vessel (his dwelling), my breast was his water-skin, and my lap was his shelter. Now his father has divorced me and wants to take him away from me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "You have more right to him (to raise him) as long as you do not marry (again)."

وأخرجه أبو داود (2276) عن محمود بن خالد، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (2276) narrated it from Mahmud bin Khalid with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 11/ (6707) من طريق ابن جُرَيج، عن عمرو بن شعيب، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (11/ 6707) narrated it likewise by way of Ibn Jurayj, from Amr bin Shu'ayb.
Grading: The chain of this hadith is "hasan".
وأخرجه أبو داود (2276) عن محمود بن خالد، بهذا الإسناد.
