فحدَّثَناه علي بن حَمْشَاذَ العَدْل ويحيى بن منصور القاضي، قالا: حدثنا علي بن عبد العزيز، حدثنا أبو عُبيد، حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن سفيان، عن معمر، عن الزُّهْري، عن سالم، عن أبيه: أنَّ غَيلان بن سَلَمة أسلم وعنده عشرُ نِسوةٍ، فأمره رسولُ الله ﷺ أن يَختارَ منهن أربعًا (1). وأما حديث المُحارِبي:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Ghaylan bin Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam while he had ten wives, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded him to choose (only) four of them.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات كسابقه. أبو عُبيد: هو القاسم بن سلّام، ويحيى بن سعيد. هو القطّان. Grading: This hadith is "sahih", and this is a chain whose narrators are trustworthy (thiqat), like the previous one. Note / Clarification: Abu 'Ubayd (the narrator) is "al-Qasim bin Sallam", and Yahya bin Sa'id is "al-Qattan". وأخرجه البيهقي في "السنن الكبرى" 7/ 182 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد. وقرن به أبا عبد الرحمن السُّلمي. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "al-Sunan al-Kubra" (7/ 182) from Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim, with this chain, and he paired Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami with him (in the chain). وأخرجه الدارقطني في "العلل" (2997) من طريق أحمد بن يوسف التغلبي، عن أبي عبيد، به. Reference / Source: Al-Daraqutni narrated it in "al-'Ilal" (2997) via Ahmad bin Yusuf al-Taghlibi, from Abu 'Ubayd, likewise.
