It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, death will be brought in the form of a black-and-white ram. Then it will be called out: O people of Paradise! And they will look out in fear and dread that they might be removed from where they are. They will be asked: Do you recognise this? They will say: Yes, this is death. Then it will be called out: O people of Hell! And they will look out with joy and hope that perhaps they will be taken out of this (punishment). They will be asked: Do you recognise this? They will say: Yes, this is death. Then a command will be given concerning it, and it will be slaughtered upon the Sirat (the Bridge). And it will be said to both groups: Now you will remain forever in the state you are in; there will never again be death after this."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, because Yazid bin Harun is reliable and he narrated it as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet) in all his narrations, whereas al-Fadl bin Musa al-Sinani and Abd al-Wahhab bin Abd al-Majid narrated it from Muhammad bin Amr as mawquf (stopping at the Companion).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan on account of Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqamah bin Waqqas al-Laythi. Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it (12/7546) from Yazid bin Harun, with this chain, and paired Abd Allah bin Numayr with Yazid. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ahmad (14/8906) narrated it via Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, Hannad in "al-Zuhd" (212) from Abdah bin Sulayman, and Ibn Majah (4327) via Muhammad bin Bishr al-Abdi; all three from Muhammad bin Amr. Important point: Together with those before them, these make five thiqah narrators who narrated it from Muhammad bin Amr as "marfu'", and that is the mahfuz (preserved) version. Note / Clarification: A reference to the "mawquf" version will come later with the author (al-Hakim). Reference / Source: Ahmad (14/8817) and al-Tirmidhi (2557) narrated it at the end of a long hadith via al-Ala' bin Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah. Grading: Al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan sahih". Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Ahmad also narrated it (14/8907 and 15/9449) via Asim bin Bahdalah, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah. Reference / Source: Ahmad (14/8535), al-Bukhari (6545), and Ibn Hibban (7449) narrated it in abridged form via Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, with the wording: "When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, a caller will call out: O people of Paradise, eternity, with no death in it; and O people of the Fire, eternity, with no death in it."
Note / Clarification: In the manuscripts this word was corrupted into "wa wafaqahu"; it was likewise in manuscript (Z), but was then corrected to "wa awqafahu" (and he made it mawquf), which is correct.
