مَنْ رَمَى الْعَدُوَّ بِسَهْمٍ فَبَلَغَ سَهْمُهُ أَخْطَأَ أَوْ أَصَابَ فَعَدْلُ رَقَبَةٍ
Whoever shoots an arrow at the enemy and it reaches them, whether it misses or hits, it equals freeing a slave

حدَّثَناه أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الحَكَم، أخبرنا ابن وهب، أخبرني رجالٌ من أهل العلم منهم عمرو بن الحارث، عن سُليمان بن عبد الرحمن، عن القاسم مولى (1) عبد الرحمن، عن عمرو بن عَبَسة، قال: سمعتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ يقول: "مَن رمَى العدوَّ بسهمٍ فبَلَغَ سهمُه، أخطأَ أو أصابَ، فعَدْلُ رَقَبةٍ" (2).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever shoots an arrow at the enemy and it reaches its mark, whether it misses or hits, it is equal to freeing a slave."

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات، والقاسم مولى عبد الرحمن - وهو ابن عبد الرحمن الدمشقي - وإن اختلف في سماعه من عمرو بن عَبَسة، قد توبع كما في الطريق السابقة.
Grading: The hadith is sahih and the narrators are thiqah. There is disagreement over al-Qasim's hearing from Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him), but he has a corroboration.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (2812) عن يونس بن عبد الأعلى، عن عبد الله بن وهب، بهذا الإسناد.
