It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will say: Bring out of Hell everyone who said 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah) and had in his heart faith equal to the weight of a speck; bring out of Hell everyone who said 'La ilaha illallah' and had in his heart faith equal to a grain of wheat; and bring out of Hell everyone who said 'La ilaha illallah', or remembered Me (at any time), or feared Me in any situation."
The chain of this hadith is sahih, but the two Shaykhs did not record the words: "whoever remembered Me or feared Me in any situation".
Grading: Its chain is hasan. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Although there is some criticism of the memory of the narrator Mu'ammal bin Isma'il, there is a corroboration (mutaba'ah) of him in the next hadith, which makes up for this shortcoming. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration has a shahid (supporting report) from the hadith of Abd Allah bin Amr bin al-As in Abu al-Qasim al-Asbahani's book "al-Hujjah fi Bayan al-Mahajjah" (no. 300). Grading: The chain of this supporting report is hasan.
Note / Clarification: This refers to the hadith of intercession (shafa'ah), which al-Bukhari (7510) and Muslim (193) (326) narrated in detail. Reference / Source: Both these narrations are reported by way of Ma'bad bin Hilal al-Anazi from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
