Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 2258

حدَّثَناه أبو حامد أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا محمد بن عثمان بن أبي شَيْبة، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا عبد الله بن نُمير، عن الأعمش، عن أبي وائل، عن أبي مسعود، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "حُوسِب رجلٌ فلم يُوجَد له خَيرٌ"، فذكره بنحوه (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man was brought to account and no good deed was found for him," and then he narrated something similar in meaning to the previous hadith.

(1) حديث صحيح، محمد بن عثمان بن أبي شيبة - وإن كان تُكُلِّم فيه - قد توبع كما تقدَّم في الطريق التي قبله.
Grading: The hadith is "sahih"; although Muhammad bin Uthman bin Abi Shaybah has been criticised, he is corroborated (mutaba'ah) in the previous narration.
