إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ قَسَمَ مِنْهَا رَحْمَةً بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا
Allah has one hundred mercies, one of which He has divided among the people of this world
Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 187

أخبرنا أبو العباس عبد الله بن الحسين القاضي بمرو، حدثنا الحارث ابن أبي أُسامة، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا الحجَّاج بن أبي زينب قال: سمعتُ أبا عثمان النَّهْدي يحدِّث عن أبي هريرة، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "إِنَّ الله خَلَقَ يوم خلق السماواتِ والأرضَ مئة رحمةٍ، كلُّ رحمةٍ طِبَاقُها طباقُ السماوات والأرض، فقَسَمَ رحمةً بينَ جميع الخلائق، وأخَّرَ تسعةً وتسعين رحمةً لنفسِه، فإذا كان يوم القيامة رَدَّ هذه الرحمةَ، فصار مئةُ رحمةٍ يَرحَمُ بها عبادَه" (1). وله شاهد آخر مُفسَّر عن جُندُب بن عبد الله:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the day Allah created the heavens and the earth, He created one hundred mercies, each mercy so vast that it would fill the space between the heavens and the earth. Allah distributed one of them among all the creatures and kept ninety-nine mercies with Himself. When the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah will take back this one mercy as well, and thus He will have mercy on His servants with the full one hundred mercies."

(1) حديث صحيح لكن من حديث سلمان الفارسي، والحجاج بن أبي زينب ليس بذاك القوي وقد خولف في إسناده، وأعلَّه به الحافظ ابن حجر في "إتحاف المهرة" (19087) فقال: الحجاج ضعيف، وخالفه سليمان التيمي وغيره من الثقات فرووه عن أبي عثمان عن سلمان. قلنا: وسيأتي حديث سلمان عند المصنف برقم (7820). أبو عثمان النهدي: هو عبد الرحمن بن ملّ.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, but as a narration of Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hajjaj bin Abi Zaynab is not a strong narrator, and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar declared its chain defective (weak). Trustworthy narrators narrated it with the chain of Abu Uthman from Salman.
Note / Clarification: Abu Uthman al-Nahdi's name is Abd al-Rahman bin Mall.
وأما حديث أبي هريرة، فقد أخرجه البخاري في "التاريخ الكبير" 3/ 376 - 377، والدولابي في "الكنى والأسماء" (2042)، وأبو بكر الشافعي في "الغيلانيات" (332) من طرق عن يزيد ابن هارون، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: This narration of Abu Hurayrah was reported by al-Bukhari in "al-Tarikh al-Kabir", al-Dulabi in "al-Kuna wa al-Asma'" and Abu Bakr al-Shafi'i in "al-Ghaylaniyyat" through the route of Yazid bin Harun.
