It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed Allah has one hundred mercies. Of these, He distributed one mercy among the people of this world, which suffices them until their death, and He has kept back ninety-nine mercies for His awliya' (beloved servants). And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will join that one mercy which He distributed among the people of this world to those ninety-nine (on the Day of Resurrection), and thus complete one hundred mercies for His awliya' on the Day of Resurrection."
This hadith is sahih on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it with this wording. They only agreed upon the abridged narrations of al-Zuhri from Humayd bin Abd al-Rahman and of Sulayman al-Taymi from Abu Uthman, while Imam Muslim recorded, through Abd al-Malik bin Abi Sulayman, a narration more complete than those two. There is also a supporting narration along the lines of this hadith of Awf:

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is sahih and the chain is strong (qawi). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Khilas bin Amr did not hear from Abu Hurayrah, so the chain is broken from his side, but from the side of Muhammad bin Sirin it is connected (muttasil). Note / Clarification: Awf is "Awf bin Abi Jamilah al-A'rabi". Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it (16/10670) through the chain of Rawh bin Ubadah and Muhammad bin Ja'far from Awf, by this same route. Important point: This narration will come again at number (7821) through the route of Muhammad bin Sirin alone from Abu Hurayrah. Reference / Source: A similar narration was reported by Ahmad, Muslim (2752), al-Tirmidhi (3541) and al-Bukhari (6469) through three different routes, those of Abd al-Rahman bin Ya'qub, Abu Salih al-Samman and Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Technical note / Error (wahm): Al-Hakim made two errors here: first, al-Bukhari and Muslim did not narrate it through the route of al-Zuhri from Humayd but through the route of al-Zuhri from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib. The second error is that he called it a narration agreed upon by the two Shaykhs, whereas in the narration of Salman, Muslim is alone.
(6147). Reference / Source: This narration is found through this same route in Sahih Muslim (2752/19), Musnad Ahmad (15/9609), Ibn Majah (2493) and Ibn Hibban (6147).
