It is narrated from Ubayd bin Umayr that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to push through the crowd very forcefully at the two corners (the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone) (during tawaf). I said: O Abu Abdur-Rahman, you push through the crowd at these two corners so much that I have not seen any other of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do so! He said: If I do so, it is because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Touching these two is an expiation for sins." And I heard him say: "Whoever performs tawaf of this House seven times and completes it properly, it is equal to freeing a slave." And I heard him say: "He (the one performing tawaf) does not put down one foot nor lift the other except that Allah removes from him a sin because of it and records for him a good deed."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) according to what I have explained about the condition of Ata bin al-Sa'ib, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note: The text between the brackets [ ] was not in our manuscripts; we completed it from Talkhis al-Dhahabi. It is established in other sources through Jarir bin 'Abd al-Hamid from 'Ata' bin al-Sa'ib.
(4462). Grading: Its chain is sahih. Although Jarir's narration from 'Ata' is from after ('Ata's) mental deterioration (ikhtilat), he is corroborated by those who heard from him both before and after the deterioration. Technical note: In Musnad Ahmad (4462) 'Abdullah bin 'Ubayd explicitly states that he heard from his father. Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi (959) and Ibn Hibban (3697) through Jarir, with this same chain. al-Tirmidhi called it a "hasan hadith". Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad through Hushaym bin Bashir and Hammam bin Yahya, from 'Ata' bin al-Sa'ib. Both of these narrators are from after 'Ata's deterioration. Reference / Source: Its first part was narrated by Ahmad through Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah and Sufyan al-Thawri. Both Sufyans narrated from 'Ata' before his deterioration, while Ma'mar is from after it. Reference / Source: al-Nasa'i narrated through Hammad bin Zayd (from before the deterioration) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Touching the two corners wipes away sins" and "Seven circuits are equal to freeing a slave". Technical note: The unnamed person here is 'Ubayd bin 'Umayr, the father of 'Abdullah. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Majah (2956) with the chain al-'Ala' bin al-Musayyab from 'Ata' bin Abi Rabah from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad, al-Bukhari (1611), al-Tirmidhi and al-Nasa'i through al-Zubayr bin 'Arabi, that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about touching (the Black Stone), and he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kissing it". Important point: This narration has also passed earlier at number (1694) through Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). (6038). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic the hadith of al-Munkadir bin 'Abdullah will come later at number (6038). Note / Clarification: "subu'an" means seven times (performing tawaf). Note / Clarification: "fa-ahsahu" means to count it fully and complete it.
