إِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ حَجَّهُ فَلْيُعَجِّلِ الرِّحْلَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ

حدثنا أبو الطيِّب محمد بن أحمد الذُّهْلي، حدثنا جعفر بن أحمد بن نصر الحافظ، حدثنا أبو مروان محمد بن عثمان العثماني، حدثنا أبو ضَمْرةَ اللَّيثي، عن هشام بن عُرْوة، عن عُرْوة، عن عائشة، أنَّ رسولَ الله ﷺ قال: "إذا قَضَى أحدُكم حَجَّه فليُعَجِّلِ الرِّحلةَ إلى أهلِه، فإنَّه أعظمُ لأجْرِه" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you has completed his Hajj, let him hasten his return journey to his family, for that is greater for his reward."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) إسناده قوي، رجاله ثقات، ومحمد بن عثمان العثماني وإن كان فيه كلام من حيث النكارة في حديثه فيما يرويه عن أبيه، فقد بيَّن الذهبي في "الميزان" أنَّ نكارتها من قبل أبيه، فخرج من عهدتها، وقد وثقه أبو حاتم وصالح جزرة، وقال البخاري: كان صدوقًا وهو خير من أبيه وأبوه عنده عجائب. أبو ضمرة الليثي: هو أنس بن عياض.
Grading: Its chain is "strong" and its narrators are thiqah. The criticism concerning Muhammad bin 'Uthman al-'Uthmani is due to his father, while Imam Abu Hatim and Salih Jazarah declared him thiqah, and al-Bukhari called him "saduq" and better than his father.
Technical note: Abu Damrah al-Laythi is Anas bin 'Iyad.

وفي باب الحث على تعجيل المسافر بشكل عام الرجوع إلى الأهل، عن أبي هريرة رفعه: ¤ ¤ "السفر قطعة من العذاب، يمنع أحدكم طعامه وشرابه ونومه، فإذا قضى نهمته فليُعَجِّل إلى أهله". أخرجه البخاري (1804) و (3001) و (5429)، ومسلم (1927).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On encouraging the traveller to return home quickly, the marfu' hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) is in al-Bukhari (1804) and Muslim: "Travel is a piece of torment; it keeps one of you from his food, his drink and his sleep, so when one has fulfilled his purpose, let him hasten to his family".
