حدَّثَناه أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الرَّبيع بن سليمان، أخبرنا الشافعي، أخبرنا عبد العزيز بن محمد، عن عمرو بن أبي عمرو، عن رجل من الأنصار، عن جابر، عن النبي ﷺ نحوه (3).
هذا حديث لا يعلِّلُ حديث مالك وسليمان بن بلال ويعقوب الإسكَندَراني، فإنهم وَصَلُوه وهم ثقات.

A narration with the same meaning as the previous hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
This hadith does not expose any defect in the narration of Imam Malik, Sulayman bin Bilal and Ya'qub al-Iskandarani, because they narrated it with a connected chain and they are all trustworthy (thiqah).

(3) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لإبهام الراوي عن جابر، وقد سلف الكلام في الاختلاف فيه برقم (1677). عبد العزيز بن محمد: هو الدراوردي.
Sahih li-ghayrihi: This narration too is sahih, but this chain of it is "da'if" (weak) because the narrator from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) is unnamed.
Technical note: 'Abd al-'Aziz bin Muhammad is al-Darawardi.
وهو في "الأم" للشافعي 3/ 537 - 538، لكن وقع عنده: عن رجل من بني سلمة. وبنو سَلِمة هم من الأنصار.
Reference / Source: In Imam al-Shafi'i's 'al-Umm' (3/537) there is mention here of "a man from Banu Salimah", and Banu Salimah is a clan of the Ansar.
وأخرجه أحمد 23/ (15158) عن أبي سلمة الخزاعي، عن عبد العزيز بن محمد الدراوردي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (23/15158) narrated it with the chain of Abu Salamah al-Khuza'i from al-Darawardi.
وأخرجه أحمد (15185) من طريق عبد الرحمن بن أبي الزناد، عن عمرو بن أبي عمرو، عن رجل ثقة من بني سلمة، عن جابر.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (15185) narrated it through the route of 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Zinad from 'Amr bin Abi 'Amr, via "a trustworthy man from Banu Salimah", from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him).
