Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came before the Black Stone, touched it (istilam), then placed his blessed lips upon it and wept for a long time. Then he turned and saw that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was also weeping. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umar, this is the place where tears are shed."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is very weak. Muhammad bin 'Awn al-Khurasani is a "matruk" (abandoned) narrator. Criticism of a narrator: According to Abu Hatim, he narrated from Nafi' a hadith that has no basis. Imam al-Mizzi also pointed to this. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (2945) narrated it with the chain of 'Ali bin Muhammad al-Tanafisi from Ya'la bin 'Ubayd. Important point: "al-'abarat" means tears.
