It is narrated from Sayyiduna Aslam that he heard Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "What need is there now for ramal (walking briskly in tawaf) and uncovering the shoulders, when Allah has made Islam firmly established and has driven away disbelief and the disbelievers? Yet despite this, we will not abandon any practice that we used to do with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: In the manuscripts a distortion (error) occurred here, turning it into "ada'a"; the correct word is "atta'a", as in al-Bayhaqi's "al-Sunan al-Kubra" 5/ 79 and the other sources of takhrij. "Atta'a" means: to make something firm and to establish it securely.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan in the context of corroborating chains and supporting reports on account of Hisham bin Sa'd al-Madani. Criticism of a narrator: Yahya bin Yahya refers to al-Naysaburi. Reference / Source: Ahmad 1/ (317), and from him Abu Dawud (1887), as well as Ibn Majah (2952) by way of Ja'far bin 'Awn, narrated it with this same chain of Hisham bin Sa'd. Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari (1605) reported the statement of 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): "What need do we now have for ramal (walking briskly in tawaf)? We only did it to show our strength to the polytheists, and Allah has now destroyed them." Then he said: "But since it is something the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did, we do not like to abandon it." Important point: "al-ramalan" means quickening one's pace (walking briskly).
