أخبرنا أبو النَّضْر الفقيه، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدَّارمي، حدثنا يحيى بن مَعين، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعْمَر، عن قَتادة، عن أنس: أنَّ النبيَّ ﷺ احتَجَمَ وهو مُحرِمٌ على ظهر القَدَمين من وَجَعٍ كان به (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه بهذه الزيادة.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done on the upper part of his feet, because of a pain, while in the state of ihram.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this addition.

(1) رجاله ثقات، لكن أعله أبو داود - فيما رواه عن أحمد - بأنَّ سعيد بن أبي عروبة قد رواه عن قتادة فأرسله. قلنا: ورواية معمر عن قتادة فيها كلام لأهل العلم، وأما سعيد بن أبي عروبة فهو ثبت في قتادة، ثم إنَّ معمرًا قد خالف هنا في متنه، فالمحفوظ أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قد احتجم في رأسه، كما في حديث ابن عباس السابق، وكذا في حديث ابن بحينة في "الصحيحين" وغيرهما، لكن إن ثبت حديث معمر هذا فهو محمول على تعدد القصة، كما ذهب إلى ذلك الإمام ابن خزيمة فقد صحَّحه برقم (2659) مستدلًا به على أنَّ النبي ﷺ احتجم محرمًا غير مرةٍ مرةً على الرأس ومرة على ظهر القدم، وقال الحافظ ابن حجر في "الفتح" 17/ 457: وليست هذه بعلة قادحة - يعني رواية سعيد عن قتادة المرسلة - والجمع بين حديثي ابن عباس وأنس واضح بالحمل على التعدد، أشار إلى ذلك الطبري.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): According to Abu Dawud, Sa'id bin Abi 'Arubah narrated it as mursal, while the narration of Ma'mar from Qatadah has been criticised.
Important point: What is preserved (mahfuz) is that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done on his head, as in the narrations of Ibn 'Abbas and Ibn Buhaynah. However, Ibn Khuzaymah declared it sahih and interpreted it as separate incidents: that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done on different occasions on the head and on the top of the foot.
والحديث أخرجه أحمد 20 / (12682)، وعنه أبو داود (1837).

وأخرجه النسائي (3818) و (7554)، وابن حبان (3952) من طريق إسحاق بن راهويه، كلاهما (أحمد وإسحاق) عن عبد الرزاق، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban (3952) narrated it by way of Ishaq bin Rahawayh.
وقد روى نحوه حميد الطويل عن أنس، لكن لم يحدد مكان الحجامة، فقد أخرجه أحمد 21 / (13816) من طريقه قال: سئل أنس عن الحجامة للمحرم، فقال: احتجم رسول الله ﷺ من وجع كان به.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Humayd al-Tawil narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in ihram because of a pain, but he did not specify the place.
