It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl (ritual bath) and then put on his clothes. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Dhu al-Hulayfah, he prayed two rak'ahs, then mounted his she-camel, and when the she-camel stood upright with him at al-Bayda', he (peace and blessings be upon him) entered ihram for Hajj.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, and Ya'qub bin Ata' bin Abi Rabah is among those narrators whose hadiths the Imams have collected, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. It also has a sahih supporting narration (shahid) on the condition of the two Shaykhs.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This isnad is da'if (weak) due to the weakness of Ya'qub bin 'Ata', but on the strength of its supporting reports it is hasan li-ghayrihi. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (5/ 33) narrated it via the chain of Imam al-Hakim. Reference / Source: Al-Daraqutni (2432) narrated it via Muhammad bin Ishaq al-Saghani. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Some parts of it are narrated with a sahih chain from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Zuhr at Dhu al-Hulayfah, then marked his she-camel on its hump (ish'ar), wiped away the blood, garlanded it with two sandals, and when he reached al-Bayda' he began the talbiyah for Hajj.
Clarification: Further detail on this will come later at no. (1675). Important point: "Al-Bayda'": this is the edge of Dhu al-Hulayfah (the miqat of Madinah).
