It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent (a zakah collector) to a man, and the man sent a thin, weak young camel. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The zakah collector of Allah and of His Messenger came to him, and he sent a weak young camel! O Allah, do not bless him in it or in his camels." When this reached the man, he sent a very beautiful and excellent she-camel. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reached so-and-so, and he has sent an excellent she-camel. O Allah, bless him in it and in his camels."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is strong (qawi); 'Asim bin Kulayb and his father Kulayb (Ibn Shihab al-Jarmi) are both saduq and there is no harm in them. Criticism of a narrator: Abu Qilabah is Abd al-Malik al-Raqashi, Abu 'Asim is al-Dahhak bin Makhlad, and Sufyan is al-Thawri. Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (2250) narrated it via the route of Zayd bin Yazid bin Abi al-Zarqa', through Sufyan al-Thawri with this same chain. Important point: "Bi-fasilin makhlul": this means an emaciated young camel into whose nose a stick (khilal) has been pierced so that it cannot suckle from its mother, and so it becomes thin. "Fasil" is the young camel that has been separated from its mother, and "khilal" is the stick that is stuck into its nose.
