Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1470

أخبرَناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا مُسدَّد، حدثنا أبو عَوَانة، عن أبي إسحاق، عن عاصم بن ضَمْرة، عن عليٍّ، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "ليس في تِسعينَ ومئة شيءٌ، فإذا بَلَغَتْ مئتين ففيها خَمسةُ دراهم" (1).
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Nothing is due on one hundred and ninety dirhams, but when the amount reaches two hundred dirhams, five dirhams of zakah are due on it."

(1) إسناده قوي من أجل عاصم بن ضمرة. أبو عوانة: هو الوضاح عن عبد الله اليشكري، وأبو إسحاق: هو عمرو بن عبد الله السبيعي.
Grading: Its chain is strong (qawi) because of 'Asim bin Damrah.
Criticism of a narrator: Abu 'Awanah is al-Waddah bin Abdullah al-Yashkuri, and Abu Ishaq is 'Amr bin Abdullah al-Sabi'i.
وأخرجه أحمد 2/ (711)، وأبو داود (1574)، والترمذي (620) من طرق عن أبي عوانة، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (2/711), Abu Dawud (1574) and al-Tirmidhi (620) narrated it via various routes from Abu 'Awanah.
وأخرجه بنحوه أحمد (913)، وأبو داود (1572) و (1573)، وابن ماجه (1790)، والنسائي (2268) و (2269) من طرق عن أبي إسحاق، به. روايتا أبي داود مطولتان، وقرن فيهما بعاصم بن ضمرة الحارثَ الأعور، وهو ضعيف.
Reference / Source: A narration of similar meaning was narrated by Ahmad (913), Abu Dawud (1572 and 1573), Ibn Majah (1790) and al-Nasa'i (2268 and 2269) via various routes from Abu Ishaq. Both narrations of Abu Dawud are lengthy, and in them al-Harith al-A'war, who is weak, is paired with 'Asim bin Damrah.
