Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1374

ما أخبرني علي بن العباس الإسكندراني العدل بمكة، حدثنا أبو جعفر أحمد بن عبد الواحد الحِمْصي، حدثنا كَثِير بن عُبيد المَذْحِجي، حدثنا محمد بن خالد الوَهْبي، حدثنا إسماعيل بن أبي خالد، عن قيس بن أبي حازم، عن عبد الله بن مسعود، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "إذا كانت مَنِيَّةُ أحدِكم بأرضٍ، أُتيحَتْ له الحاجة فيَقْصِدُ إليها، فيكونُ أقصى أثرٍ منه، فتُقبَضُ رُوحُه فيها، فتقولُ الأرض يوم القيامة: ربِّ هذا ما استَودَعْتَني" (1). ومنها:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the time of death of one of you is written in a particular land, a need is created for him there; then he sets out for it, and when he reaches his last footstep, his soul is taken there. Then on the Day of Resurrection that land will say: 'O my Lord, this is the trust that You deposited with me.'" And among them is this:
