Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1359

أخبرنا أحمد بن سَلْمان بن الحسن الفقيه، حدثنا الحسن بن مُكْرَم، حدثنا رَوْح بن عُبادة، حدثنا سعيد بن عبيد الله بن جُبَير بن حَيَّة، حدثني عمِّي زياد بن جُبَير بن حيَّة، حدثني أبي جُبَير بن حيَّة الثقفي، أنه سَمِع المغيرة بن شعبةَ يقول: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "الراكبُ خلفَ الجنازةِ، والماشي قريبًا منها، والطفل يُصلَّى عليه (3). رواه يونس بن عُبيد عن زياد بن جُبَير:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The rider should go behind the funeral, the one walking should stay close to it, and the funeral prayer is also to be offered over a child."

(3) حديث صحيح، على خِلاف في رفعه ووقفه.
Grading: (3) This hadith is sahih, although there is disagreement over whether it is marfu' or mawquf.
وأخرجه أحمد 30/ (18207)، وابن ماجه (1481) و (1507) من طريق روح بن عبادة:¤ ¤ بهذا الإسناد. لم يذكر ابن ماجه في الموضع الأول قوله: "الطفل يصلى عليه" واقتصر في الموضع الثاني عليه.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (30/18207) and Ibn Majah (1481, 1507) narrated it via Rawh bin 'Ubadah with this same chain.
