Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this not once or twice but many times: "When a servant (regularly) does a righteous deed, and then illness or travel keeps him from that deed, the same reward is written for him as was written when he did it while healthy and resident."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs did not record it in this way!

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) The hadith is "sahih" and its narrators are trustworthy, but there is a break (inqita') between Hushaym and Ibrahim al-Saksaki, which is bridged by al-'Awwam bin Hawshab (as is clear from the takhrij). Technical note: Abu al-Muthanna refers to Mu'adh, and Abu Burdah refers to Ibn Abi Musa al-Ash'ari. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (3091) narrated it via the chain of Musaddad and Muhammad bin 'Isa from Hushaym, with the complete link (al-'Awwam bin Hawshab). Reference / Source: Ahmad (32/19679) and al-Bukhari (2996) narrated it via the chain of Yazid bin Harun from al-'Awwam. Al-Hakim's istidrak (adding it as missed by the two Shaykhs) is an oversight on his part here as well.
