Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, loves a servant, He makes him 'asalahu' (sweet like honey)." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by making him sweet like honey?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He grants him the ability to do a righteous deed shortly before his death, until his neighbours" or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "those who live around him, become pleased and happy with him."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) The chain is qawi (strong) because of Yahya bin Abi Talib. Reference / Source: Ahmad (36/21949) narrated it through Zayd bin al-Hubab with this same chain.
(Note / Clarification): "'Asalahu": according to Ibn Qutaybah, it means that Allah opens up for the servant such righteous deeds that people become pleased with him and his good mention becomes sweet like honey ('asal).
(Note / Clarification): According to al-Zamakhshari, it is in the sense of sweetening food with honey, i.e. Allah makes the servant's righteous deeds accepted and fragrant among people.
