Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement about whether Matar bin Ukamis was a Companion, but according to most he was a Companion. Note / Clarification: The narrator Abu Hudhayfah is "Musa bin Mas'ud al-Nahdi", Sufyan is "Sufyan al-Thawri", and Abu Ishaq is "Amr bin Abdullah al-Sabi'i". Reference / Source: Imam al-Tirmidhi (2146) and Abdullah bin Ahmad in "Zawa'id al-Musnad" (36/21983) narrated it through two different routes from Sufyan al-Thawri. Grading: Imam al-Tirmidhi declared it "hasan". Reference / Source: Abdullah bin Ahmad also narrated it at (21984) through the chain of Hudayj Abu Sulayman from Abu Ishaq (al-Sabi'i).
