Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 124

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the death of one of you is destined in a particular land, some need is provided for him there and he sets out for it; then when he reaches the furthest point of his footsteps there, his soul is taken there. Then on the Day of Resurrection that land will say: 'O my Lord! This is the trust that You left with me.'"
Hushaym narrated it from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid with a connected chain (musnad).
