It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should make his brother get up from his place and then sit there himself." I asked: Is this ruling for Friday? He said: It is for Friday and all other days.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with the additional mention of Friday! [End of the Book of the Friday Prayer - beginning of the section on the Prayer of the Two Eids]

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
10/ (6371). Grading: (3) Its chain is sahih; it is found in Musnad Ahmad (10/6371). Reference / Source: Muslim (2177) and al-Bukhari (911) narrated it through various routes, so al-Hakim made an oversight here as well. Reference / Source: Ahmad, al-Bukhari, Muslim, al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban narrated it through the chain of Nafi' from Ibn Umar, but they did not specify "Jumu'ah"; rather, some added at the end the command to "make room". Reference / Source: Ahmad, Muslim and al-Tirmidhi narrated it by way of al-Zuhri from Salim, with the addition that Ibn Umar would not sit in a place that someone vacated for him. Reference / Source: Ahmad (9/5567) and Abu Dawud (4828) narrated it through the chain of Abu al-Khasib, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade sitting in someone else's place. Grading: There is weakness in this chain because the condition of Abu al-Khasib is unknown (jahalah). (4659). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic, the narrations of Abu Hurayrah, Abu Sa'id, Anas, Jabir and Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) are mentioned in the annotation on Musnad Ahmad (4659). (7906). Repetition: The narration of Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) will come later in al-Mustadrak at number (7906).
