Ammar bin Abi Ammar narrates: On a Friday I passed by Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he, along with his slaves and servants, was letting the water of a stream flow. I said to him: O Abu Sa'id! The Friday prayer (it is time)! He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When there is heavy rain, pray in your dwellings."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. Nasih bin al-Ala is a trustworthy (thiqah) Basran, whereas the one who has been criticised is Nasih Abu Abdullah al-Muhallimi al-Kufi, because he narrates munkar (objectionable) reports from Simak bin Harb.
