فحدَّثَناه أبو محمد عبد الرحمن بن حمدان الجَلّاب بهَمَذان - وأنا سألته - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم الصُّوري، حدثنا مؤمَّل بن إسماعيل، حدثنا سفيان، عن الأعمش، عن المِنهال بن عمرو عن زاذانَ، عن البراء قال: خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في جنازةٍ، فأتينا القبرَ ولمَّا يُلحَدْ … وذكر الحديث (1). وأما حديث شعبة:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for a funeral; we reached the grave and the lahd (niche) had not yet been prepared (then the narrator mentioned the full hadith).

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف من أجل محمد بن إبراهيم الصُّوري، لكن الحديث صحيح من طرقه الأخرى التي ذكرها المصنف.
Grading: This hadith is sahih; although this particular chain is weak because of Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Suri, it is established as sahih through its other routes (which the author has mentioned).
وأخرج أوله مختصرًا أحمد 30/ (18625) عن عبد الرزاق، عن سفيان، بهذ الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated the opening part of it in abridged form in his Musnad (30/18625) from Abd al-Razzaq from Sufyan (al-Thawri) with this same chain.
Grading: This hadith is sahih; although this particular chain is weak because of Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Suri, it is established as sahih through its other routes (which the author has mentioned).
