Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and sought permission to enter. Since there were many people at the door, he was not granted permission. After a while, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) also came and sought permission, but he too was not granted permission. After a short while, both of them were granted permission and entered the house. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting and his noble wives were around him. Sayyiduna Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah! If you see the daughter of Zayd (your wife) asking me for maintenance right now, I will press her neck." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed so much that his blessed teeth became visible. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, these women whom you see with me are asking me for maintenance." Hearing this, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr stood up to hit Sayyidah Aisha, and Sayyiduna Umar moved towards Hafsa, and both of them said, "Do you ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for something which he does not have?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped both of them, and all the noble wives said, "By Allah, after today we will not ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for anything which he does not have." After this, Allah revealed the verse of choice (Ayat al-Takhyir).
Hadith 14693

Hadith 14695

Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep, then said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say that people have now entered Allah’s religion in multitudes, and soon, in the same way, they will leave in multitudes.

I saw that day that water was gushing forth from the blessed fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went with his companion to the house of an Ansari and said: If you have water left over from the night in this vessel, (give it to us), otherwise we will drink directly (from the source). At that time, the man was watering his garden. He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): I have water left over from the night, and he took both of them towards his tent. Upon reaching there, he poured water into a bowl and milked a goat over it, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank. After the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he did the same for the companion who had come with him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the expedition of Dhat al-Riqa’. In this expedition, a woman from among the polytheists was also killed. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out to return, the husband of that woman came back. Seeing his wife dead, he swore that he would not rest until he had shed blood among the companions of Muhammad. After taking this oath, he set out following the footprints of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Meanwhile, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached a certain place and camped, he said, “Who will keep watch tonight?” At this, a Muhajir and an Ansari volunteered and said, “O Messenger of Allah! We will do it.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Then do this: go and keep watch at the mouth of this mountain pass,” because they had camped in a mountain pass. When both of them reached there, the Ansari asked the Muhajir, “Which part of the night do you prefer that I suffice for you? The first or the last?” He said, “You take the first part, and I will take the second.” So the Muhajir lay down and slept, and the Ansari stood up and began to pray. Meanwhile, the polytheist arrived. When he saw the figure of a man from afar, he realized that this was the guard of the people. So he aimed from a distance and shot an arrow at him, which struck his body. The Ansari pulled it out and threw it away, and continued to pray steadfastly. The polytheist shot a second arrow, which also struck his body. The Ansari pulled it out and threw it away, then went into bowing and prostration and woke up his companion. He told him to sit down, and he himself jumped up. When the polytheist saw both of them, he realized that the people had become aware of him, so he fled. Then the Muhajir, seeing the Ansari’s flowing blood, said in amazement, “Subhan Allah!” and asked, “Why didn’t you wake me up?” The Ansari replied, “I was reciting a surah and I did not like to end my prayer without completing it. But when I saw that he had showered me with arrows, then I bowed and woke you up. By Allah, if I had not feared that the duty of keeping watch would be neglected, which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had assigned to me, my soul would have departed before I finished that surah.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a person from eating with his left hand, or walking with only one shoe, or wrapping his body in a single garment, or sitting in such a way with one knee up that his private parts become exposed.
