It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "My cistern (Hawd) is as large as the distance between Aden and Oman. Its water is colder than ice, sweeter than honey, and more fragrant than musk. Its drinking vessels are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Whoever drinks a single sip from it will never feel thirsty again. The first to arrive at this cistern will be the destitute emigrants." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are those people?" He replied: "Those with disheveled hair, sunken faces, and dirty, tattered clothes, for whom the doors of the world are not opened, whose proposals are not accepted by girls brought up in luxury, and who fulfill every responsibility but do not claim their rights."
Hadith 6163
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began the prayer by saying the takbeer, and when he performed bowing and prostration, he would raise his hands up to the level of his shoulders.
Hadith 6164
The previous hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 6165
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to bring a knife. I brought it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent it to be sharpened. After that, handing me the knife, he said: "Bring this knife to me in the morning." I did so. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to the markets of Madinah, where wineskins imported from Syria were hanging. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the knife from my hand and cut open every wineskin that came into view. After that, he gave the knife to me and ordered the companions present with him (may Allah be pleased with them) to go with me and assist me. He said to me: "Go around all the markets, and wherever you find any wineskin of wine, cut it open." So I did so, and I did not leave any wineskin in the markets without cutting it open.

Zaid bin Aslam narrates from his father that once I went with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) to Abdullah bin Muti’, he welcomed Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) and ordered the people to present him a cushion. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: I have come to narrate to you a hadith which I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience to the rightful ruler, no argument will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever dies having separated from the “community” dies the death of ignorance.
Hadith 6167
This prophetic saying is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that envy (desire) is not permissible towards anyone except two persons: one is the person whom Allah has granted the wealth of the Qur'an and he remains engaged in its recitation day and night; and the other is the person whom Allah has granted wealth and property and has enabled him to spend it in the path of truth.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was mentioning tribulations (fitan). He (peace and blessings be upon him) described them in considerable detail, and in the midst of this, he also mentioned the "Fitnah of Ahlaas." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by the Fitnah of Ahlaas?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It refers to the tribulation of fleeing and fighting." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the Fitnah of Sarra’ and said: "Its smoke will rise from beneath the feet of a man from my household. He will think that he is from me, but he will have nothing to do with me. My friends are only the righteous. Then people will unite behind a man who will be like a rib on a camel’s side. After that, there will be the Fitnah of Duhayma, which will not leave any person of this Ummah without slapping him. Whenever people say that this tribulation is over, it will become even more intense. In that time, a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, until people will be divided into two camps: one camp of faith in which there will be no hypocrisy, and the other camp of hypocrisy in which there will be no faith. When such a time comes upon you, then await the Dajjal, for he will emerge that day or the next."

Hadith 6169
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! How should the night prayer be performed?" He replied: "You should pray in sets of two rak'ahs, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak'ah as witr to those two."
Hadith 6170
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The night prayer consists of two rak‘ahs at a time, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak‘ah to these two. And Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) himself would also perform one rak‘ah of Witr.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was once standing in the plain of Arafat. He saw the sun, which was hanging like a shield about to set. Seeing this, he began to weep and wept profusely. A man asked, "O Abu Abdur Rahman, I have had the opportunity to stand with you several times, but you have never done this before?" He replied, "The memory of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me. He too stood at this very place. He said: 'O people! The proportion of what remains of the life of this world compared to what has passed is only as much as the remaining part of this day compared to the part of the day that has already passed.'"

When he would go into bowing (ruku'), he would again raise his hands so much that they would be at the level of his shoulders, then he would say the takbeer and go into ruku'. When he wanted to raise his back (from ruku'), he would again raise his hands so much that they would be at the level of his shoulders and say "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah" and go into prostration (sajdah), but he would not raise his hands in prostration. However, in every rak'ah and before every takbeer for ruku', he would raise his hands until the prayer was completed.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When Allah Almighty sent down Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) to the earth, the angels said, "O Lord, are You appointing as Your vicegerent on the earth one who will spread corruption in it and shed blood, while we glorify You with praise and declare Your holiness?" Allah Almighty said to the angels: "Bring two angels so that they may be sent down to the earth and We may see what they do." The angels presented Harut and Marut, and both were sent down to the earth. After that, a planet named "Zuhrah" was sent to them in the form of an extremely beautiful woman. She came to them, and both began to demand that she give herself to them. She said, "By Allah! This cannot happen until you utter this polytheistic statement." Harut and Marut said, "By Allah, we will never associate partners with Allah." Hearing this, she went away and after a while returned carrying a child. They again made the same demand to her. She said, "This cannot happen until you kill this child." Both said, "We will never kill him under any circumstances." She went away again and after a short while came back carrying a cup of wine. They made the same demand to her as before, but she said, "This cannot happen until you drink this wine." Both drank the wine, and in their intoxication, they committed adultery with her and killed the child as well. When they regained their senses, she said, "The two things you refused to do, after becoming intoxicated, you did not refrain from either of them." Then they were given the choice between the punishment of this world and the torment of the Hereafter, so they chose the punishment of this world.

And there are three types of people upon whom Allah will not look with mercy on the Day of Resurrection: the one who is disobedient to his parents, the habitual drunkard, and the one who reminds others of his favors after giving.

On the occasion of the Farewell Hajj, during his sermon, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a detailed mention of the "Dajjal" and said: Allah has not sent any prophet into the world except that he warned his nation about the trial of Dajjal. Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) also warned his nation, and after him, all the noble prophets (peace be upon them) continued to warn. If anything remains hidden from you, this should not remain hidden from you: your Lord is not one-eyed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this sentence twice.
