Hadith 6082
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يُونُسُ ،
وَسُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا
فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا خَرَجْنَا حُجَّاجًا مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ ، " فَلَمْ يَحِلَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَلَا عُمَرُ حَتَّى طَافُوا بِالْبَيْتِ " ، قَالَ : قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ، وَبِالصَّفَا , وَالْمَرْوَةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we set out with the intention of Hajj along with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and before the Day of Sacrifice, neither the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) nor Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) made anything lawful for themselves until they had performed the Tawaf and Sa’i.
Hadith 6083
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يُونُسُ ،
وَسُرَيْجٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا
فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ حِينَ أَنَاخَ لَيْلَةَ عَرَفَةَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the night of Arafah, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made his camel sit down (after reaching Muzdalifah), he performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers together.
Hadith 6084
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the image-makers will be subjected to punishment, and it will be said to them: Breathe soul into what you have created and give them life.
Hadith 6085
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ
أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ ثَالِثِهِمَا ، وَلَا يُقِيمُ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Two people should not whisper to each other excluding a third. And no person should make another get up from his place and then sit there himself.
Hadith 6086
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ
أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَمَّادٌ : وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا مَرْفُوعًا ، قَوْلُهُ : يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ سورة المطففين آية 6 ، قَالَ : " يَقُومُ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي الرَّشْحِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ آذَانِهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained this verse, "When people will stand before the Lord of the worlds," by saying: At that time, people will be standing, submerged in their sweat up to half of their ears.
Hadith 6087
It is narrated, most likely as a marfu’ hadith, from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whoever says "Insha’Allah" when taking an oath, then he has the choice: if he wishes to fulfill his oath, he may do so, and if he wishes to retract from it, he may do so without being sinful.
Hadith 6088

حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ
أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَبِيعُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى بَيْعِ أَخِيهِ ، وَلَا يَخْطُبُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should sell over the sale of his brother, nor should he send a marriage proposal over the proposal of his brother, unless he is granted permission.
Hadith 6089
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter into the state of Ihram, he would use olive oil in which flowers had been added but had not been boiled together.
Hadith 6090
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer the Sunnah of Fajr while the call to prayer was still being heard in his ears.
Hadith 6091
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ
بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، سَمِعْتُ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مَدِينَتِنَا ، وَفِي صَاعِنَا ، وَمُدِّنَا ، وَيَمَنِنَا ، وَشَامِنَا " ، ثُمَّ اسْتَقْبَلَ مَطْلِعَ الشَّمْسِ ، فَقَالَ : " مِنْ هَاهُنَا يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ ، مِنْ هَاهُنَا الزَّلَازِلُ وَالْفِتَنُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: O Allah, bless our city of Madinah, our Shaam, and our Yemen, and bless our Sa’ and our Mudd. Then he turned his face towards the direction of sunrise and said: From here the horn of Satan rises; from here there will be earthquakes and tribulations.
Hadith 6092

حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ
بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " أَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ ، وَغِفَارٌ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا ، وَعُصَيَّةُ عَصَتْ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ رِعْلًا , وَذَكْوَانَ , وَبَنِي لِحْيَانَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The tribe of Aslam—may Allah keep it safe; the tribe of Ghifar—may Allah forgive it; and 'Usayyah disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. O Allah, curse R'il, Dhakwan, and Banu Lihyan."
Hadith 6093
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, a flag will be raised for every deceiver by which he will be recognized, and the greatest deception is that of the ruler of the time.
Hadith 6094
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمِ بْنِ الْبَرِيدِ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَجَمَ يَهُودِيًّا وَيَهُودِيَّةً " , قَالَ عَبْدُ الله بْنِ أَحْمَّد : قَالَ أَبِي : سَمِعْتُ مِنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ هَاشِمِ بْنِ الْبَرِيدِ فِي سَنَةِ تِسْعٍ وَسَبْعِينَ ، فِي أَوَّلِ سَنَةٍ طَلَبْتُ الْحَدِيثَ مَجْلِسًا ، ثُمَّ عُدْتُ إِلَيْهِ الْمَجْلِسَ الْآخَرَ وَقَدْ مَاتَ ، وَهِيَ السَّنَةُ الَّتِي مَاتَ فِيهَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on one occasion, the punishment of stoning was carried out on a Jewish man and woman.
Hadith 6095
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Omen could be found in three things: in a horse, in a woman, and in a house.
Hadith 6096
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي
أَبِي ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَصْبُغُ ثِيَابَهُ وَيَدَّهِنُ بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : لِمَ تَصْبُغُ هَذَا بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ ؟ قَالَ : لِأَنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ أَحَبَّ الْأَصْبَاغِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَدَّهِنُ وَيَصْبُغُ بِهِ ثِيَابَهُ " .
Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to dye his clothes and apply saffron oil. Someone asked him, "Why do you dye your clothes with saffron?" He replied: "I have seen that saffron oil was the most beloved of all things to be dyed for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He used to apply its oil and dye his clothes with it."
Hadith 6097
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً الْعِشَاءَ حَتَّى رَقَدْنَا ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ، ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ، وَإِنَّمَا حَبَسَنَا لِوَفْدٍ جَاءَهُ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ غَيْرُكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the Isha prayer so much that we slept and woke up three times in the mosque. In fact, a delegation had come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and said: "At this time, there is no one on the face of the earth waiting for prayer except you."
Hadith 6098
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَاعَنَ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي زَمَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَانْتَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِهَا ، " فَفَرَّقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمَا ، وَأَلْحَقَ الْوَلَدَ بِالْمَرْأَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man invoked li'an (mutual cursing) against his wife and denied the attribution of her child to himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) separated the two and handed the child over to the mother.
Hadith 6099
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُرَانِي فِي الْمَنَامِ عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا آدَمَ ، كَأَحْسَنِ مَا تَرَى مِنَ الرِّجَالِ ، لَهُ لِمَّةٌ قَدْ رُجِّلَتْ ، وَلِمَّتُهُ تَقْطُرُ مَاءً ، وَاضِعًا يَدَهُ عَلَى عَوَاتِقِ رَجُلَيْنِ ، يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ ، رَجِلَ الشَّعْرِ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَقَالُوا : الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ، ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا جَعْدًا قَطَطًا أَعْوَرَ عَيْنِ الْيُمْنَى ، كَأَنَّ عَيْنَهُ عِنَبَةٌ طَافِيَةٌ ، كَأَشْبَهِ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ بِابْنِ قَطَنٍ ، وَاضِعًا يَدَيْهِ عَلَى عَوَاتِقِ رَجُلَيْنِ ، يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَقَالُوا : هَذَا الْمَسِيحُ الدَّجَّالُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I once saw in a dream, near the Ka'bah, a man of wheat-colored complexion and straight hair, who had placed his hand on two men. Drops of water were falling from his head. I asked, "Who is this?" It was made known to me that he is Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him). Then behind him, I saw a man with curly hair, reddish complexion, blind in the right eye, and, according to my sight, extremely similar to Ibn Qatan. I asked, "Who is this?" It was made known to me that he is the Masih Dajjal.
Hadith 6100

كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ مَالٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ يَبِيتُ ثَلَاثًا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : فَمَا بِتُّ لَيْلَةً مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهَا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتِي عِنْدِي مَكْتُوبَةٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It is not befitting for any person that three nights should pass without his will being written and kept with him." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: "Since the day I heard this, there has not been a single night in which my will was not written and kept with me."
Hadith 6101
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
زَائِدَةُ ، عَنِ
الْأَعْمَشِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مُجَاهِدٌ ، قَالَ : قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ائْذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ بِاللَّيْلِ " ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ : وَاللَّهِ لَا نَأْذَنُ لَهُنَّ ، يَتَّخِذْنَ ذَلِكَ دَغَلًا لِحَاجَتِهِنَّ ، قَالَ : فَانْتَهَرَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أُفٍّ لَكَ ! أَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَتَقُولُ : لَا أَفْعَلُ ! .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allow your women to go to the mosque at night." Upon hearing this, a son of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "We will prevent them." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "I am narrating to you the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and you are saying this?"
Hadith 6102
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ : " فَعَلْتَ كَذَا ؟ " قَالَ : لَا وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَا فَعَلْتُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لَهُ جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ فَعَلَ ، وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى غَفَرَ لَهُ بِقَوْلِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ " , قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : لَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذَا مِنَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ بَيْنَهُمَا رَجُلٌ ، يَعْنِي ثَابِتًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked a person, "Did you do this deed?" He replied, "No, by the One besides whom there is no deity, I did not do this deed." At that moment, Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) came and said, "He did do that deed, but due to the blessing of saying 'La ilaha illallah,' he has been forgiven."
Hadith 6103
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا حَلَفَ الرَّجُلُ , فَقَالَ : إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ، إِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَمْضِ ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَتْرُكْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) in a marfu’ form that whoever says "Insha’Allah" while eating, then he has the choice: if he wishes to fulfill his oath, he may do so, and if he wishes to retract from it, he may do so without becoming a violator of his oath.
Hadith 6104
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 6105
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one who wears silk clothing is he who has no share in the Hereafter.
Hadith 6106
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُلَيْمَانُ الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ
مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ اسْتَعَاذَ بِاللَّهِ فَأَعِيذُوهُ ، وَمَنْ سَأَلَكُمْ فَأَعْطُوهُ ، وَمَنْ دَعَاكُمْ فَأَجِيبُوهُ ، وَمَنْ أَتَى إِلَيْكُمْ مَعْرُوفًا فَكَافِئُوهُ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا مَا تُكَافِئُونَهُ فَادْعُوا لَهُ ، حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا أَنْ قَدْ كَافَأْتُمُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever seeks refuge in the name of Allah, grant him refuge. Whoever asks you in the name of Allah, give to him. Whoever invites you, accept his invitation. Whoever does good to you, repay him; but if you do not find anything with which to repay him, then pray for him so much that you feel you have repaid him.
Hadith 6107

أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ فِي بَاطِنِ يَدِهِ ، فَطَرَحَهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ ، فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ ، فَكَانَ يَخْتِمُ بِهِ ، وَلَا يَلْبَسُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made of gold. He would turn its stone towards the palm of his hand. People also had rings made, upon which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw it away. The people also took off and threw away their rings. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made of silver. With it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would seal (letters), but he would not wear it.
Hadith 6108
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you are invited, then accept it.
Hadith 6109
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the words with which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to swear were these: "No, by the Turner of the hearts."
Hadith 6110
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي
مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
سَالِمٌ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ
عَبْدَ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ بِأَسْفَلِ بَلْدَحَ ، وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَحْيُ ، فَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُفْرَةً فِيهَا لَحْمٌ ، فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ : إِنِّي لَا آكُلُ مِمَّا تَذْبَحُونَ عَلَى أَنْصَابِكُمْ ، وَلَا آكُلُ إِلَّا مَا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ , وَحَدَّثَ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once, before the beginning of the period of revelation in the low-lying area of Makkah Mukarramah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spread a dining mat before him and brought meat and placed it in front of him. He refused to eat it and said, "I do not eat the meat of those animals which you people sacrifice in the name of your idols. Rather, I only eat those things upon which Allah's name has been mentioned." Benefit: By "you people" is meant "the nation" and not the person of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 6111
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا
هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ
أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ هَمَّامٌ فِي كِتَابِي , قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا وَضَعْتُمْ مَوْتَاكُمْ فِي الْقُبُورِ فَقُولُوا : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ، وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you lower your dead into the grave, say: "In the name of Allah and upon the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah."
Hadith 6112
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you meet a pilgrim, greet him with salam, shake hands with him, and ask him to pray for your forgiveness before he enters his house, for he is forgiven.
Hadith 6113
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has made Paradise forbidden for three types of people: the habitual drinker of alcohol, the disobedient to parents, and the shameless man who tolerates indecency in his household.
Hadith 6114
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ
يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا
الْحَسَنُ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا تَجَرَّعَ عَبْدٌ جَرْعَةً أَفْضَلَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ جَرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ ، يَكْظِمُهَا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No servant has ever swallowed a gulp more virtuous in the sight of Allah than the gulp of anger which he swallows seeking the pleasure of Allah.
Hadith 6115
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had his head shaved.
Hadith 6116
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ
عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا تَجَرَّعَ عَبْدٌ جَرْعَةً ، أَفْضَلَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ جَرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ يَكْظِمُهَا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى " .

Hadith 6117

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَأْكُلَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِشِمَالِهِ ، وَلَا يَشْرَبَنَّ بِهَا ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْكُلُ بِهَا وَيَشْرَبُ بِهَا " ، قَالَ : وَزَادَ نَافِعٌ : وَلَا يَأْخُذَنَّ بِهَا ، وَلَا يُعْطِيَنَّ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should eat or drink with his left hand, because Satan eats and drinks with his left hand. Nafi’ adds to this that one should not hold anything with the left hand nor give anything to anyone with it.
Hadith 6118
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to turn the stone of his ring towards the palm of his hand.
Hadith 6119
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ
أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ الَّتِي طَلَّقَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : طَلَّقْتُهَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعُمَرَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ عُمَرُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا ، إِذَا طَهُرَتْ طَلَّقَهَا فِي طُهْرِهَا لِلسُّنَّةِ " ، قَالَ : فَفَعَلْتُ , قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَسَأَلْتُهُ , هَلْ اعْتَدَدْتَ بِالَّتِي طَلَّقْتَهَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ؟ قَالَ : وَمَا لِي لَا أَعْتَدُّ بِهَا ، إِنْ كُنْتُ عَجَزْتُ وَاسْتَحْمَقْتُ ! ! .
Anas bin Sirin says that once I requested Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) to narrate the incident of divorcing his wife. He said: I divorced my wife while she was in her "periods." Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: Tell him to take his wife back, and when she becomes "pure," then in those days of purity he may divorce her. I asked: Did you count the divorce that was given during her "periods"? He said: Why would I not count it? If I had not done so, people would have considered me foolish.
Hadith 6120
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying on a donkey while he was going to Khaybar.
Hadith 6121
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The caliphate will remain among the Quraysh as long as two men (are united and in agreement).
