The angel who sat at the feet said to the one sitting at the head, "Describe the example of him and his ummah." He replied, "The example of him and his ummah is like a group of travelers who have reached the edge of a jungle. They do not have enough provisions to cross the jungle or to return. While they are in this state, a man in a Yemeni cloak comes to them and says, 'Look! If I take you to a lush, green garden and flowing pools, will you follow me?' They reply, 'Yes!' So that man leads them to lush, green gardens and flowing pools that quench their thirst, and they eat and drink and become healthy and strong. Then one day that man says to them, 'Did I not meet you in such a state that you promised me if I brought you to lush, green gardens and flowing pools, you would follow me?' They reply, 'Of course.' The man then says, 'Ahead of you are gardens even greener and pools even more abundant, so now follow me.' At this, one group affirms him and says, 'InshaAllah, we will follow him,' while another group says, 'We are happy to remain here.'"
