1722 hadith
Hadith 1877
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once he was performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah with Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) began to touch all the corners of the Ka'bah. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to him, "Why are you touching these two corners when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not touch them?" He replied, "No part of the Ka'bah can be left out." Upon this, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) recited this verse: «﴿لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ﴾ [الأحزاب: 21]» "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) you have an excellent example." Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You have spoken the truth."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting with some of his noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), when suddenly a large star shot across and became bright. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When this used to happen in the time of ignorance, what would you say?" The people replied, "We used to say that either a great man has been born or a great man has died." (The narrator says: I asked Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him): Were stars also shot in the time of ignorance? He said: Yes! But after the Prophet's (peace be upon him) mission, it became more severe.) The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The shooting of stars does not happen because of anyone's death or life. The real matter is that when our Lord decides upon a matter, the angels who carry the Throne begin to glorify Him. Hearing their glorification, those of the nearest heaven also begin to glorify, and so on, until this reaches the heaven of the world. Then the angels of this heaven—who are close to the bearers of the Throne—ask them: 'What has your Lord said?' They inform them, and thus each heaven's angels inform those of the next, until this news reaches the angels of the lowest heaven. From there, the jinn snatch one or two words, and upon them these stars are thrown. Now, whatever they convey correctly, that proves true, but most of the time they add something from themselves."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting with some of his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), when suddenly a large star shot across and became bright... Then, mentioning the complete hadith, he said: "When our Lord decides upon a matter, the angels who carry the Throne begin to glorify Him. Hearing their glorification, those in the nearest heaven also begin to glorify, and thus this continues until it reaches the heaven of the world. Then the angels of this heaven—who are close to the bearers of the Throne—ask them, 'What has your Lord said?' It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for the conquest of Makkah, he was fasting, but when he reached the place of Kudayd, he broke his fast. And the last action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is taken as proof. Someone asked Sufyan whether this last sentence is the statement of Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) or of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)? He replied: These words have come in the hadith exactly like this.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during a part of the night, performed a light ablution, and stood up (for prayer). Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) did the same and joined the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved him and placed him on his right side, then he prayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down until he began to snore. Then, when the muezzin came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for prayer and did not perform ablution again.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying during a sermon: "You will meet Allah in such a state that you will be barefoot, naked, walking on foot, and uncircumcised."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during Hajj. A man, while in the state of Ihram, fell from his camel, his neck broke, and he died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bathe him with water mixed with lote tree leaves, shroud him in his two Ihram garments, do not apply perfume to him, and do not cover his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah."

Hadith 1916
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), in explanation of the following verse: «﴿وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ﴾ [الإسراء: 60]» "And We did not make the vision which We showed you except as a trial for the people," states that what is meant by this is the vision of the eyes by which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was shown (things) during the Night of Ascension (Mi'raj).
