Ibrahim bin Ubayd bin Rifa'ah al-Ansari (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, from Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyidah Aishah bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), while her sister Asma' was with her, wearing loose clothes with wide sleeves. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw her, he stood up and went out. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to her: Move away; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has seen something in you that he disliked. So she opened the door and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came in, and Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked him (peace and blessings be upon him): Why did you stand up? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Did you not see her state? It is not permissible for a Muslim woman that anything of her body should show except this" - and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of his two sleeves and covered the backs of his hands with them until nothing of his hands showed except his fingers, then he placed his hands on his temples until nothing showed except his face.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): The sons of Ja'far are afflicted by the evil eye; may I have ruqyah done for them? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes. If anything were to outstrip the decree, the evil eye would outstrip it."
